Hi! I'm Vallen Webb

Your trainer and mentor!

I’m the trainer behind this course, Evelyn’s mom, and mom to Kalliana, Violet, Emmett, and Bohdi.

I’m really glad you’re here.

I want you to know right away that this space is for people who care deeply. People who want to support grieving families well. People who know that pregnancy loss care matters and are willing to learn how to do it with more compassion, confidence, and intention.

I’m here for you. I’m here to train you. And I’m here to walk with you through the process.

I truly believe most people are more naturally capable of grief work than they think they are. They don’t need to become someone else to do this well. They need support, education, language, and guidance so the care already inside of them can come through in a way that truly helps families.

This training is one of the best things I’ve ever created, and I’m incredibly proud of it. Not just because of what’s inside it, but because of what it can unlock in the people who take it. Alongside my co-trainer, Leila, we created this to be meaningful, practical, honest, and deeply rooted in the real needs of grieving families.

So if you’re looking for fluff, this probably isn’t for you.
If you’re looking for heart, truth, compassion, and real education that will help you grow, you’re in the right place.

I cannot wait to meet you.

"The work that Vallen is doing is so important-- this content should be a part of every doula and birth professional's knowledge base! As a doula and perinatal mental health professional in-training, having the opportunity to move through this material in an informed, compassionate, community space felt invaluable. Vallen's heart is in every bit of this, and she is doing such a beautiful thing through turning tragedy to teaching and providing the opportunity for folks to increase their comfortability with supporting clients navigating loss. So many rippling effects come from this-- thanks, Vallen!"

Deborah

"Vallen speaks from her heart and personal experience. She knows what is most helpful to grieving families, and has put together a comprehensive curriculum that is exactly what I needed to feel prepared and confident in supporting families who have experienced loss. The Pregnancy Loss Training by Evelyn James and Company is very comprehensive and created with a lot of heart, understanding, and empathy by Vallen, who has experienced her own pregnancy loss. It covers topics I hadn't even considered that come into play as families navigate their grief. I feel much more prepared to support families through pregnancy loss than prior to taking the training. As a birth doula, I believe pregnancy loss training should be a required for certification, because when we do this work long term, we will inevitably experience a client's loss. Being prepared to offer the right support at this time is critical."

Kalani

"The pregnancy loss education training I took with Evelyn James & Co. was an incredible experience. It was a very comprehensive training, and I felt as though it was extremely beneficial in my personal journey to better understand how to navigate supporting bereavement and loss. I cannot wait to carry this knowledge into my practice and be able to aid families in a more respectful and emotionally competent way. I was honored to be a part of this community of like-minded professionals, and I highly recommend involving yourself with their services because these women are incredibly compassionate in educating others. This course is great for those looking to support families with bereavement care. It was very informative and gave a lot of beneficial information on understanding the stages of grief and being the best advocate/support you can be throughout this process."

"I'm new to postpartum doula work. Prior to taking this course, I was dreading what I would do if I encountered pregnancy loss. Like, I had this big pit of sadness and anxiety in my stomach. I think the biggest takeaway hearing what it is like experiencing a loss and supporting a loss. And knowing that that pit in my stomach is normal and shows my compassion and empathy. I feel like I am much more full of strategies, knowledge, and passion for this work now. "

Maren

"What Vallen and her team at Evelyn James have created in The Pregnancy Loss Education Course is education mixed with a passion to create a network of support for doulas and the families we serve. Not only do you come away with practical skills to help families, but you come away with the knowledge and confidence to connect with others in this tricky sector of our industry. She helps demystify loss situations which leaves you empowered to help. The entire team at Evelyn James is there to support you before, during and after your training so you end up with support, and industry friends, for life."
